The role of the Financial Controller

The role of the Financial Controller involves overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, and budget management. This permanent position is ideal for individuals with a strong background in accounting and finance who are ready to take ownership of financial operations.

Description

  • Manage all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all financial and legal regulations, as well as internal policies.
  • Oversee the preparation of budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Monitor cash flow and implement effective strategies to optimise financial performance.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Lead and develop the finance team to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.

Profile

  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Proven experience in financial management within manufacturing.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to interpret financial data effectively.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting systems.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills to manage a finance team successfully.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
