✨We're Hiring: Care Financial Controller | Splendid Care (Part of Splendid Hospitality Group)✨
We're looking for a Care Financial Controller to lead financial control, reporting and commercial performance across our growing care business.
Reporting to the Group Operations Finance Director, this is a pivotal role partnering with operational leaders to ensure robust financial control while providing the insight needed to drive occupancy, profitability and informed decision-making across our care homes.
You'll strengthen the financial foundations of our care business—from accurate reporting, budgeting and forecasting to governance, compliance and continuous improvement—helping our teams deliver outstanding care through sound commercial decision-making.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys business partnering, influencing senior stakeholders and making a genuine impact within a purpose-driven organisation.
This role requires you to be based at our Care Head Office in Warnham 3–4 days per week, with regular visits to our care homes to build relationships and support operational teams.

Our care division is currently home to three residential care homes in West Sussex—Derwent Lodge, Ullswater Cottage and Upper Mead—where compassionate, person-centred care is at the heart of everything we do.

🔍 The Role You will:
- Lead month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting across our care business.
- Partner with Operations Directors, Regional and Home Managers to provide commercial insight that drives occupancy, profitability and performance.
- Deliver accurate financial reporting, cash flow, balance sheet and operational KPI analysis.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial performance through cost management and operational efficiencies.
- Strengthen financial governance, compliance and audit readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and reporting.
- Build trusted relationships across finance and operations, translating financial data into meaningful business insight.
👤 About You You'll bring:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant financial control experience within care, healthcare or another multi-site operational environment such as hospitality, retail or leisure.
- Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and operational finance.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to influence business performance through insightful analysis.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge constructively.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP/reporting systems.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and delivering meaningful change.
