Salary: £75,000–£80,000 per annum (DOE) + up to 10% discretionary annual bonus

Overview
A leading UK multi-site services organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join its Finance Leadership Team. Operating across a diverse portfolio of national contracts, the business delivers essential services through a large operational workforce and generates significant annual revenues.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused finance professional to take ownership of financial control, reporting and governance while partnering closely with senior operational stakeholders to drive business performance and support strategic decision-making.
Role Summary
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, strengthening controls and governance, and supporting operational and commercial performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly close activities, ensuring accurate and timely management reporting.
- Maintain robust financial controls, balance sheet integrity and group reporting compliance.
- Review, analyse and challenge financial performance across operational divisions and central cost centres.
- Coordinate annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Partner with senior operational leaders to provide commercial insight, challenge and decision support.
- Drive improvements in finance processes, reporting capability and internal controls.
- Oversee cash flow management and working capital performance.
- Support statutory accounting requirements and external audit processes.
- Lead, develop and mentor members of the finance team.
- Act as deputy to the Finance Director when required.
- Contribute to finance systems enhancement and reporting transformation initiatives.

Essential Requirements
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or significant equivalent qualified-by-experience background.
- Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or similar leadership-level finance role.
- Strong management accounting, financial reporting and balance sheet control expertise.
- Experience within a multi-site, contract-led or operationally focused business environment.
- Proven budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
- Strong business partnering capability with senior stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong finance systems knowledge.
- Experience improving finance processes, reporting frameworks and internal controls.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- IBM Planning Analytics (TM1).
- CCH Tagetik.
- Power BI.
