Financial Controller | High-Growth EdTech Mobile App
Location: London - Hybrid
Salary: £75,000-£85,000 + Bonus / Equity
Position: Full-time
Talentedge is partnering with a fast-growing, VC-backed EdTech mobile app that is entering an exciting phase of UK and international expansion.
Following significant investment and continued growth across its user base, subscription revenues and global markets, the business is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to strengthen its finance function and build the infrastructure required for its next stage of growth.
Reporting to the CFO, this is a broad, hands-on role with responsibility for financial control, reporting, planning and team development. You will work closely with the founders and senior leadership team, ensuring the business has accurate financial information, scalable processes and robust controls as it continues to grow.
The Role
- Own the month-end close and production of accurate monthly management accounts
- Lead statutory reporting, audit, tax, VAT and wider compliance requirements
- Manage cashflow forecasting, working capital and treasury processes
- Maintain strong balance sheet controls and reconciliation processes
- Oversee revenue recognition across subscription, app-store and digital revenue streams
- Improve financial controls, accounting policies and reporting processes
- Support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
- Produce clear financial reporting for the CFO, Board and investors
- Partner with Product, Growth, Marketing and Operations teams on financial performance
- Provide analysis across subscriber growth, customer acquisition, retention, lifetime value and profitability
- Lead finance systems implementation, automation and reporting improvements
- Manage and develop members of the finance team
- Support fundraising, due diligence and international expansion projects

About You

- Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA or CIMA
- Strong financial control and management reporting experience
- Experience within EdTech, mobile apps, subscriptions, consumer technology or another high-growth digital business
- Strong understanding of recurring revenue models and revenue recognition
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on role within a scaling, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong knowledge of statutory reporting, audit, tax and financial controls
- Confident partnering with senior stakeholders across both finance and non-finance teams
- Strong systems, process improvement and team management capabilities
