Financial Controller

£70,000 - £80,000 + Bonus + Benefits

Eaton Syalon are exclusively supporting the appointment of a commercially focused Financial Controller on behalf of a successful SME business with ambitious plans for growth. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established SME that has built an excellent reputation within its sector and is now entering the next phase of its growth journey, supported by the backing of a larger group committed to both organic growth and strategic acquisitions.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, with a dotted line into the Group CFO, this role will play a key part in shaping commercial decision-making, driving financial performance, and providing the leadership team with the insight required to support ambitious growth plans. This is far more than a traditional financial reporting role.

We are seeking a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys partnering with operational stakeholders, influencing business decisions, and helping leadership teams navigate growth, change, and opportunity.
The Opportunity
- Working closely with both local and group leadership teams, you will:
- Lead all aspects of financial management and reporting for the business
- Act as a trusted business partner to the Managing Director and wider leadership team
- Provide meaningful commercial insight to support decision making and profitability
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities
- Develop financial controls, reporting processes, and management information
- Support business planning, growth initiatives, and strategic projects
- Deliver accurate month-end and year-end reporting
- Work closely with the Group Finance function to ensure consistency and best practice
- Identify opportunities for operational and financial improvement across the business
- Help prepare the business for future growth and integration opportunities

About You
We're interested in speaking with individuals who can demonstrate:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience operating within a fast-moving SME environment
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence senior stakeholders
- A proactive, hands-on approach and willingness to remain close to the detail when required
- Experience partnering with operational and non-finance leaders
- Strong financial reporting, forecasting, and business planning capability
- The ability to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day delivery
