Financial Controller
£80-94,000 (inclusive of car allowance) + up to 15% Bonus + Hybrid and Flexible Working + Excellent Benefits
Seymour John is delighted to be supporting a well-established and highly successful European manufacturing business in the search for a UK Financial Controller & Company Secretary. This is a key leadership appointment within the UK operation, offering the opportunity to play a significant role in shaping the future direction and driving performance improvement.
The business forms part of a substantial international group with operations across multiple European countries and serves a diverse blue-chip customer base. The UK operation is a modern manufacturing facility employing approximately over 100 people and enjoys a high degree of operational autonomy whilst benefiting from the resources, expertise and support of the wider group.

The Role
Reporting directly to the UK Managing Director and forming a key part of the senior leadership team, you will lead all finance, accounting and local IT activities across the UK business. This is a broad, commercially focused role that combines financial stewardship, business partnering and strategic leadership.

You will be responsible for:
- Leading the finance and local IT teams, developing capability and ensuring a high-quality professional service to the business.
- Management accounting, financial analysis and performance reporting.
- Budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and investment appraisal.
- Working capital, cash flow and credit management.
- Standard costing, operational efficiency analysis and commercial decision support.
- Treasury, banking, foreign exchange and financing activities.
- Payroll, pensions, employee benefits and insurance programmes.
- Audit, taxation, statutory reporting and company secretarial responsibilities.
- Supporting senior operational, sales and supply chain leaders with commercial insight and financial expertise.
The role offers genuine influence across the organisation. You will work closely with an experienced Managing Director and leadership team who value accountability, collaboration, transparency and continuous improvement.
The Person
We are seeking a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a proven track record in manufacturing finance and leadership.

You will bring:
- A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
- At least five years' manufacturing finance experience.
- Previous experience leading finance teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and business partnering capability.
- Advanced Excel and ERP systems knowledge, ideally SAP.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, analytical and hands-on approach, coupled with the credibility to influence at all levels.
This role will particularly suit an individual who enjoys operating autonomously, taking ownership and partnering with colleagues across the business to drive performance and continuous improvement.
Reward Package
- £80-94,000 combining salary and car allowance.
- Performance bonus of up to 15% of salary.
