They are on the lookout for a Financial Controller to drive financial excellence and strategic growth.

The Role:

As the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day operations of the finance department for our main trading entity. You will collaborate with the Accounts Manager and work closely with the Finance Director and key stakeholders to shape financial strategy and enhance management accounting practices. Your expertise will be essential in:

  • Producing accurate and timely Management Accounts for the main trading company and its subsidiaries every month.
  • Creating Consolidated Group Financial Accounts and Reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Liaising with external auditors for Standalone and Group Audit annually.
  • Engaging in Financial Forecasting and Budgeting to support strategic initiatives.
  • Maintaining Financial Reporting and Forecasting, assessing impacts and risks to forecast changes.
  • Ensuring compliance with FCA regulations through regular interaction with the Compliance Manager.
  • Reconciling inter-company transfers, loans, and other transactions efficiently.
  • Leading the growth and development of the finance team in alignment with business needs.
  • Collaborating with the Finance Director to enhance financial processes, operations, and strategy.

About You:

We are seeking a candidate who is:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, at advanced stages of qualification, or equivalent
  • Experienced in the Insurance Industry (highly desirable) with an audit background (highly desirable!). Candidates with a Financial Services industry background will also be considered
  • Proficient in Financial Modelling or possess a strong understanding of it.
  • Familiar with Multi-entity / Group Reporting.
  • Experienced in auditing or working closely with external auditors.
  • Management trained, with a proven track record in team leadership.
  • Skilled in working alongside FD/CFO-level personnel.
  • Advanced in MS Excel, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Eager to progress and build upon existing skills and qualities.
