Commercial Financial Controller
Warrington
£80,000 - £90,000 + Exceptional Benefits + 4-Day Working Week
This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK's largest and fastest-growing wholesale businesses as Commercial Financial Controller, reporting directly to an exceptional CFO who is committed to developing high-performing finance leaders.
Taking ownership of a £45 million turnover division within a £500 million group, you'll play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making, and influencing the future direction of a private equity-backed organisation.
With ambitious growth plans firmly in place, this role offers significant exposure to senior leadership, complex commercial challenges, and genuine career progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial reporting for your division within the wider group.
- Deliver Private Equity reporting and support investor requirements.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Manage statutory accounts and coordinate the external audit with a Big Four audit firm.
- Develop, mentor, and lead the finance team.
- Drive commercial insight to improve profitability and business performance.
- Lead finance transformation, process improvements, and efficiency projects.
- Take ownership of ERP system optimisation and financial controls.
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to influence strategic decisions.

About You
We're looking for a technically strong, commercially minded qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
You'll demonstrate:
- Proven Financial Controller experience within a multi-entity business.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge.
- Excellent commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders.
- Leadership experience with a passion for developing teams.
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, and reporting.
- A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach.
- Previous exposure to private equity-backed businesses would be advantageous but isn't essential.
