Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced finance professional to join Mimecast on a fixed-term basis as Financial Controller (Maternity Cover). This is a senior role with broad ownership across our EMEA entities, encompassing US GAAP management reporting, statutory audit, tax collaboration, and team leadership. The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a track record of operating at Controller level in a complex, multi-currency environment, and will be ready to hit the ground running from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Management Reporting & Close Processes
- Ownership of monthly management reporting under US GAAP
- Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes across a number of EMEA entities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Oversight of reconciliations for all balance sheet items and meaningful variance analysis on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
- Review of complex calculations and items requiring judgement when prepared by more junior team members
Statutory Accounts & Audit
- Supervise statutory audits and preparation of financial statements under IFRS for UK and other EMEA entities, including oversight of complex audit items
Payroll & Employment Tax
- Preparation of payroll-related returns such as, PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA), and employment-related securities returns
- Oversight of payroll accruals and journals
Tax Collaboration
- Collaborate with tax teams to ensure visibility of transfer pricing changes and timely reporting of corporation tax returns

- Implementation of best practices within the Finance department
- Developing and applying knowledge of Mimecast's business to provide value-added analysis and support to other areas of the business
Team Leadership
- Providing guidance and mentoring to more junior members of the team
- Other duties as requested by senior Finance leadership, including cover during periods of high workloads and absences
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- Professional accounting qualification — ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- 5+ years' post-qualified experience within industry
- Proven Finance Controller experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
- Experience with multi-currency reporting

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is £100,000−£150,000 pro rata plus benefits. This range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location with individual compensation also dependent on factors such as qualifications, experience, and skills. Final offers will reflect these considerations and may vary accordingly.
