Location: Crawley, West Sussex (4 days on-site)
Grafton Banks Finance is working exclusively with a growing, internationally backed business to recruit a Financial Controller for their UK operation.
This is a high-profile role within the UK finance function, offering broad exposure across financial reporting, controls, and business operations. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will combine hands-on technical delivery with leadership responsibilities and involvement in ongoing process and systems improvements.
The Role
As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the UK finance function’s core reporting and compliance requirements while also playing a key role in driving improvements across systems, controls, and working capital.
You will:
- Lead a small team and work closely with senior stakeholders both in the UK and internationally.
- Provide accurate and timely financial insight to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements, complemented by insightful commentary.
- Manage cash flow requirements, assess working capital flows, and review fixed asset investment decisions.
- Identify and implement efficiency improvements through enhanced systems and processes.
- Lead the year-end closure and audit processes.
- Assist with budget preparation and quarterly reforecasting.
- Be the team lead for 3 finance staff, including operational finance functions.
- Contribute to advancement and succession planning for the Finance Director.
About You
To be considered for this role, you should:
- Be a qualified ACA Accountant with experience from an accountancy practice.
- Have 3+ years of post-qualification experience in industry settings.
- Bring large-group experience, ideally with some international exposure.
- Be proficient in managing UK and international tax obligations and ensuring strong financial control environments.
- Have knowledge of either Power BI or SQL as an advantage.
