Vero Recruitment has been exclusively retained to appoint a Financial Controller (Operational / Business) on behalf of a leading international engineering services organisation based in Aberdeen.

About our client:

Our client is one of the world's leading providers of engineering, maintenance and industrial services, supporting customers across a variety of sectors. With operations spanning multiple international markets, the business has built an enviable reputation for delivering complex engineering solutions safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

The organisation is continuing to invest heavily in its future, with ambitious growth plans supported by the global energy transition, major infrastructure investment and an increasing demand for outsourced engineering services. Finance plays a critical role within the business, acting as a genuine commercial partner to operational leadership and helping drive performance across a large, project-based organisation.

An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to join the senior finance team, taking responsibility for the financial performance of a significant operational business unit while leading an established team and partnering closely with senior operational and commercial stakeholders.

The role:

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, you will be responsible for providing financial leadership across a major operational business unit. Acting as a trusted business partner to operational and commercial leadership, you will help drive profitability, improve financial performance and provide the insight required to support strategic decision-making.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
