Brand Financial Controller

Location: Milton Keynes

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Function: Finance / Accountancy

Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Brand Financial Controller to join its Finance team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Reporting to the Head of Controlling, you will take ownership of the financial performance of a major automotive brand or group aftersales function. You will lead budgeting and forecasting activity, provide commercial insight, and support senior leadership in making informed decisions that improve financial and operational performance.

This is a high-profile role offering regular exposure to board-level stakeholders and the opportunity to influence strategy within a fast-paced, evolving automotive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the financial performance of an assigned brand or aftersales function.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Provide clear, commercially focused financial advice to the Brand Director and senior management teams.
  • Analyse financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve profitability and business outcomes.
  • Support the development of business cases, commercial strategies, and investment proposals.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across finance, sales, aftersales, and wider group functions.
  • Build strong working relationships with board members and senior leaders.
  • Influence decision-making by presenting complex financial information clearly and confidently.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across financial planning, reporting, and commercial control processes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Commercial Finance Manager, or similar senior finance professional.
  • Fully qualified accountant with CIMA, ACCA, or ACA accreditation.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance analysis.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
  • Automotive or retail sector experience is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrable experience working with board-level and senior executive stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship management, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to provide practical and commercially sound financial guidance.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-support capabilities.
