Financial Controller
Financial Controller Bradford | £65,000–£70,000
A growing, owner-led business is looking to appoint a Financial Controller to work directly with the Managing Director at a key stage of its development. This is a broad, commercially focused role offering real influence across both day-to-day operations and longer-term strategic direction.
The business operates across established retail supply and a fast-growing e-commerce channel, alongside a portfolio of recognised brands and active acquisition plans. This creates a varied environment with multiple revenue streams and genuine scope to add value.
This role goes beyond traditional finance. You will lead the finance function while acting as a commercial partner to the MD, providing insight, challenge, and support to drive performance and growth.

Responsibilities include: Ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting Monitoring cashflow, profitability and overall business performance Delivering commercial analysis across products, contracts and sales channels Partnering with the Managing Director to support decision-making Supporting strategic planning, including acquisition activity and integration Identifying opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs and drive efficiency Strengthening financial controls, processes and reporting Reviewing systems and supporting implementation of a modern, cloud-based finance platform Leading and developing the finance team Managing external stakeholders including auditors, banks and advisers
Profile: Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Head of Finance Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and challenge Experience in owner-led, growth-focused or complex trading businesses Background in retail, e-commerce, consumer products, manufacturing or similar environments is advantageous Track record of improving systems, processes and reporting Confident operating in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to balance strategy and delivery
