The Company
There are very few consumer brands in the world that genuinely stop people in their tracks. This is one of them.
Harmonic are excited to be partnering with one of the most recognised and beloved consumer brands in the world. This is a business with a huge following, a global footprint, and a product that are known for their quality and longevity.
The finance function sits at the heart of a business in confident growth mode. With a large finance team, a sophisticated international operation, and ambitious plans for continued expansion, the organisation is investing in the leadership infrastructure needed to support its ambitions. This role is a direct result of that growth.
The Role
This is a newly created Financial Controller position, sitting at the top of a large, well-resourced finance team and reporting directly to the Finance Director.
You will be the engine room of the function: the person who ensures every number is right, every process is tight, and every team member knows exactly what they are doing and why it matters. You will be a trusted partner to the wider finance leadership team, with a remit that touches every corner of the function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
It is a role for someone who leads from the front, builds accountability into teams, and fixes problems before they become issues.
What you will be doing
- End-to-end financial control across the group: month-end and year-end close, balance sheet integrity, statutory reporting and audit
- Full ownership of the Accounts Payable function: payment runs, invoice processing, banking controls and supplier master data, operating at high volume and to a high standard
- Inventory and stock accounting across a significant global stock holding: valuation, movement tracking and reconciliation
- Day-to-day leadership of a large finance team, with a focus on clarity of ownership, team development and continuous improvement
- Internal controls framework: designing, maintaining and strengthening the control environment in line with audit requirements and best practice
- Process improvement and systems optimisation, with particular focus on the ongoing ERP programme
What we are looking for
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Background in retail, consumer goods or global product brands, ideally with meaningful inventory exposure
- Proven experience managing 10+ direct reports in-house, not outsourced teams, with the presence and emotional intelligence to lead across all levels of seniority
- International or global business exposure: multi-currency, multi-entity environments
- A process-driven mindset with strong systems proficiency and a track record of improving financial operations at scale
