Group Financial Controller - MonoVerde Group

Leicester (Hamilton Industrial Estate) · Full-time · On-site / hybrid

We’re a recycled-plastic manufacturing and construction products group that builds almost everything ourselves. Our own tech runs the dispatch, the CRM, the customer service AI, and the real-time manufacturing intelligence on the shop floor. We’d rather build the right thing than buy the average one. Now the finance function needs the same treatment.

This isn’t a bookkeeping seat. It’s the person who owns the integrity of the whole group’s numbers.

The group is a holding company over a UK trading business, a 50/50 manufacturing joint venture, international markets, and cross-border sales into the EU and US. That means multi-market consolidation, intercompany flows, multi-currency, and VAT across OSS, IOSS and US D2C. The joint venture is the interesting part: you’ll own clean, defensible accounts that both partners have to trust, and hold that line calmly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you’d own:

  • Month-end close and consolidated management accounts across every entity, to a reliable timetable
  • The JV accounting — independent, defensible, and reconciled with our manufacturing partner
  • Cross-border VAT across UK, the Netherlands OSS scheme, IOSS and US flows
  • Multi-currency cash and the settlement reconciliation for our stockist network
  • Reconciling our own operating systems against the statutory ledgers, so the numbers we run on and the numbers we file agree
  • Being the bridge to our external accountants and expansion advisers

You probably are:

  • Qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or genuinely qualified by experience
  • Someone who has run multi-entity, consolidated books — not just a single company
  • Comfortable with cross-border indirect tax and working through a provider rather than needing it explained
  • Happy living inside bespoke internal tooling rather than waiting for an off-the-shelf package to think for you
  • Precise, unflappable, and able to hold a line without making it a fight

What you get:

  • A group that respects people who build things properly and doesn’t drown them in corporate process

  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension
  • Salary depending on level and experience — this is a proper group-controller seat, not an entry role
