Financial Crime Analyst

Financial Crime Analyst – ANNA Money

Join ANNA Money as a Financial Crime Analyst and play a critical role in protecting the integrity of financial services through anti-fraud and anti-money laundering measures.

About the Role

You will analyse financial transactions to detect potential fraudulent or suspicious activities, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate closely with internal teams (compliance, legal, IT) to enhance detection methodologies, investigate suspicious cases, and strengthen risk mitigation strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and Analyse Customer Transactions

  • Continuously review customer transactions for irregularities indicating money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes
    • Leverage automated transaction monitoring systems
    • Identify inconsistencies with customer profiles
    • Adopt a risk-based approach (prioritise high-risk customers/sectors)

Conduct Investigations into Suspicious Transactions

  • Thoroughly investigate flagged accounts/transactions using structured frameworks
    • Document findings for regulatory reporting (e.g., SARs)
    • Escalate cases based on identified red flags (e.g., structuring, layering)

Collaborate to Enhance Detection Systems

  • Work cross-functionally to improve detection tools using:
    • Reverse engineering cases to refine rules (e.g., tweaking thresholds)
    • Integrating data from multiple teams (compliance, fraud, customer service)

Report Comprehensive Findings

  • Prepare detailed reports with evidence, analysis, and recommended actions (e.g., terminations, legal referrals)
    • Ensure alignment with global standards (e.g., FATF, FinCEN)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
