About the role

The aim of this role is to lead and strengthen Creditspring’s financial crime framework by managing day-to-day fraud, AML, sanctions and investigation activity, maintaining effective controls and policies, supporting the MLRO, and providing oversight, insight and stakeholder engagement to protect the business from financial crime risk.

The role is in the Compliance function at Creditspring and reporting to the Head of Compliance and MLRO.

Responsibilities

  • Lead fraud and financial crime team which includes CDD including AML and sanctions screening, reviewing internal suspicious activity reports, fraud investigations, and engaging with law enforcement and other government bodies
  • Keep policies, procedures and risk assessments up to date in line with regulatory requirements and business changes.
  • Hands on role approach to investigation and resolution of more complex fraud and financial crime matters
  • Support financial crime training and awareness to relevant staff and promote a strong compliance culture.
  • Support the Head of Compliance MLRO in maintaining the firm’s AML, CTF, sanctions, anti-bribery and fraud control framework
  • Perform quality assurance and oversight of investigations, onboarding checks, alerts and case handling
  • Provide management information and reporting to the MLRO and relevant governance forums on incidents, trends, breaches and control effectiveness.
  • Carry out root cause analysis and provide insight to internal departments to support improve processes or amend policy rules as appropriate.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders such as law enforcement, government departments and third party’s where appropriate.
  • Assist with Suspicious Activity Report preparation and submission where required
  • Act as a deputy or delegate for the MLRO on relevant operational matters where appropriate.
  • Adhoc tasks as agreed with line or senior management

Essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience across compliance, financial crime and AML in financial services
  • Strong knowledge of UK fraud and financial crime laws and regulations
  • Proven experience in managing a financial crime team
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in consumer lending
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, or similar)
