Financial Crime & Sanctions Advisor (12-Month FTC)
International Law Firm

An international law firm is seeking an experienced Financial Crime & Sanctions Advisor to join its Risk & Compliance function on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is a broad advisory role where you will provide expert guidance on AML/CTF and sanctions matters, supporting stakeholders across the business on complex financial crime issues. You will act as a key escalation point for sanctions-related queries, advising on the application of UK, US, EU and Australian sanctions regimes, while helping to assess and manage financial crime risks associated with client onboarding and new business activity. The position will also involve reviewing unusual activity reports and handling more complex financial crime referrals.

Key Responsibilities

Policy & Compliance

  • Contribute to AML/CTF reform projects and wider financial crime initiatives.
  • Support the development and implementation of AML/CTF policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Coordinate stakeholder engagement and help ensure policies remain aligned with regulatory developments.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to approvals, incidents, exceptions, and remediation activities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
