About the Role
The Financial Data Application Specialist at AlphaSense bridges sales, customer success, and technical implementation for financial data products. This is a new cross-functional team at AlphaSense where entrepreneurial thinkers analyze client needs to optimize go-to-market strategies and product development.
Specialists add value by:
- Building trusted relationships with prospects and clients
- Providing deep expertise in financial data to showcase the value of AlphaSense solutions
- Driving adoption through custom templates, training, and product consultations
- Collaborating with sales, product, and marketing teams to shape future developments
Given their extensive client exposure, they’re uniquely positioned to inform strategy, refine product direction, and escalate complex challenges.
What You’ll Do
Growth Initiatives
- Assist sales demos and strategic trials of AlphaSense’s financial data solutions
- Conduct training calls to address common objections and articulate the value proposition
- Ensure seamless client onboarding and trial execution
Customer Health
- Partner with account management to deliver advanced training, product consultations, and customizations
- Increase adoption via bespoke tools (e.g., analyzers, financial models)
- Monitor client usage patterns to identify gaps and solution opportunities

Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Deep expertise in quantitative analysis, investment decisions, and valuation techniques
- Create enablement materials (videos, support articles, how-to guides) for sales and account teams
- Benchmark investor/competitor strategies and package insights for client discussions
Product Direction
- Gather client feedback and translate it into product opportunities
- Collaborate with development, product, and management teams to prioritize improvements
Consultative Support
- First line of escalation for difficult technical issues (particularly Excel add-ins)
- Resolve integration challenges ensuring seamless workflow adoption
- Maintain high satisfaction through proactive issue resolution
Regional Agility
- Flexibility to adapt across sales, customer success, and product-support roles in EMEA
- Collaborate with the larger US-based Financial Data team while maintaining operational autonomy
Who You Are

- Financial Literacy: Experience working with investment professionals, M&A teams, IR, FP&A, or competitive intelligence—comfortable speaking the "language of finance."
- Analytical Mindset: Skilled in benchmarking, quantitative analysis, and financial data interpretation (e.g., cvs, income/statement models).
- SME Potential: Commitment to becoming an established financial data subject matter expert across industries and teams.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Formal Training: Progress toward a CFA charter, bachelor’s in Economics/Finance/Accounting, or equivalent hands-on financial analysis experience (corporate development, M&A, IR, strategy).
- Experience: 2–4 years in equity research, investment management, private equity, accounting, consulting, or stakeholder-facing corporate roles with a desire to advance toward client engagement.
- Financial Knowledge:
- Demonstrated ability to work with financial data (e.g., comparable company analysis, benchmarking).
- Excels at explaining financial concepts and translating them for teams with varied expertise.
- Excel Skills: Proficient Excel certainty; preferred: familiarity with AI-powered spreadsheets (e.g., Alteryx, Python integration).
- Soft Skills: Outstanding written/oral communication to navigate high-stakes investor/manager relationships effectively.
