About The Role

The Financial Data Application Specialist role at AlphaSense lives at the intersection of sales, customer success, and technical implementation for AlphaSense’s financial data products. This is a new team at AlphaSense supporting a strategic area of investment for the business, so we are looking for entrepreneurial-minded people that can use learnings from client discussions to help optimise both their go-to-market and product strategies.

Specialists add value across our revenue organisation by:

  • Building relationships with prospects and clients
  • Providing deep technical knowledge to demonstrate the value of AlphaSense’s financial data
  • Helping to drive adoption

Due to the extensive exposure Specialists have with clients, they’re in a prime position to partner with our sales, product, marketing, and leadership teams in determining future product developments that will resonate with the market.


What You’ll Do

Growth Initiatives

  • Assist sales in demos and strategic trials of AlphaSense’s financial data solutions.
  • Run trial training calls, requiring exceptional objection-handling and value proposition communication.

Customer Health

  • Collaborate directly with account management
  • Conduct advanced training, customisations, and product consultations for users
  • Drive adoption by building custom templates or bespoke modelling tools for customers

Subject Matter Expert

  • Have expertise in quantitative analysis for investment and valuation decisions
  • Know the use cases our customers care about, and package them for sales and account management
  • Contribute to how-to videos, enablement, product marketing, and support articles

Product Direction

  • Field customer feedback and identify product opportunities
  • Relay insights across account management, account executives, product, and management

Consultative Support

  • Act as an escalation point for product and support teams on complex challenges
  • Manage and resolve technical difficulties—particularly for Excel Add-ins
  • Ensure seamless integration of modelling solutions into clients’ workflows

Regional Agility

  • Comfortable working in AlphaSense’s leaner EMEA team structure, flexing across sales, CS and product-support skills
  • Adapt coverage to collaborate effectively with the larger US-based Financial Data team

Who You Are

  • A client-facing professional with exceptional relationship-building abilities and a positive, proactive attitude
  • Experienced working with external stakeholders, such as:
    • Senior investment professionals
    • Corporate development & M&A teams
    • Investor relations
    • Corporate strategy
    • Competitive intelligence
  • Speaks the language of finance, confident in:
    • Financial data analysis
    • Benchmarking companies against peers
    • Understanding how professionals use quantitative tools for decision-making
  • Committed to becoming a subject-matter expert (SME) in financial data across:
    • All industries, personas, and verticals
  • Strong passion for technology, AI, and capital markets
  • Excellent 360-degree communicator, able to distil complex issues into simple explanations
  • Low-key mentor/teacher, focused on enabling clients to use our product effectively
  • Intensely curious about:
    • Client processes and how our tools integrate
    • Identifying use cases where new product features can solve client needs
  • Self-motivated, dynamic, and entrepreneurial, staying buoyant in repetitive client interactions
  • Balances time management, organisation, and priority-setting well
  • Independent problem-solver with a "multiple attempts before escalation" mindset
  • Flourishes in ambiguity, remains flexible in high-growth environments
  • Familiarity with the institutional investor landscape, financial markets/investment research, or corporate finance (e.g., corporate development, M&A, FP&A, IR, strategy)

Minimum Qualifications

  • A finance/corporate finance foundation, such as:
    • Progress toward a CFA
    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics/Finance/Accounting
    • Relevant hands-on experience (e.g., corporate development, M&A, investor relations, strategy/consulting)
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in:
    • Equity research
    • Investment management
    • Private equity
    • Accounting
    • Consulting
    • Corporate development/M&A
    • Investor relations
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Work with financial data (e.g., comparables analysis, benchmarking)
    • Not required: to have developed complex financial models, but must speak financial language fluently
  • Strong Excel skills, with ideally:
    • Experience with AI-powered spreadsheet tools
    • Use of generative AI tools for productivity
  • Excellent communication abilities to work effectively with:
    • Fund managers
    • Corporate finance leaders
    • Junior analysts
