Financial Director SME Software £85,000 - £95,000 plus 25% Bonus and Bens - Remote

About the Client:

This established organisation in the Technology sector is looking for a hands-on and commercially minded Financial Controller who is looking to develop their career and step up into a No1 role with in a growing SME Software company with the support of an inspirational Group FD. You will support its growth and operational efficiency. With a strong commitment to collaboration and accountability, they believe in empowering their employees with the tools and trust they need to make impactful decisions.

About the Job:

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, this role will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations, reporting, compliance, and forecasting processes. You will be responsible for maintaining financial controls, supporting strategic planning, and leading a small finance team to deliver accurate and timely financial information.

Duties will include:

  • Managing monthly and quarterly consolidated reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and internal requirements
  • Leading the budgeting and forecasting process, maintaining forecast accuracy within agreed tolerance levels
  • Improving financial systems, processes, and reporting to support scalability and informed decision-making
  • Supporting business planning and partnering with stakeholders across departments on financial matters
  • Providing insights and recommendations to improve profitability, cash flow and operational efficiency
  • Overseeing statutory compliance, audit processes, and liaising with external auditors
  • Managing risk frameworks, corporate governance policies and internal controls
  • Coordinating contract reviews and legal matters with Group Legal
  • Ensuring all tax filings and statutory obligations are met efficiently and accurately

About the Successful Applicant:

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with experience in a similar Financial Controller or senior finance role. You’ll bring strong IFRS15 knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to improving systems and controls. The ideal candidate will be commercially astute, confident managing multiple priorities, and comfortable working with senior stakeholders. A Software / Telecoms background is essential.
