Finance Director

Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 per annum
Location: Hybrid - 4 days in the Central/West London

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Director to join the leadership team in a pivotal Board-level role. This is a broad and rewarding opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys combining strategic oversight with operational excellence — and who thrives in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.

The Role

This is far more than a traditional finance position. You’ll oversee the full spectrum of finance operations across multiple entities while acting as the key liaison with a larger international parent group.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading budgeting, forecasting and monthly management accounts
  • Producing rolling P&Ls, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
  • Overseeing VAT returns and statutory accounts
  • Consolidating financial and management accounts across multiple UK and overseas entities
  • Supervising sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll and credit control functions
  • Presenting monthly financial updates and forecasts at Board level
  • Supporting business growth through financial modelling and business case development
  • Acting as the principal contact for external auditors
  • Collaborating closely with parent company finance teams on reporting, compliance and internal controls

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

As Finance Director, you'll report to the Managing Director, with regular engagement at Board level and with senior stakeholders across the wider group.

Team Leadership

You will lead and develop an established finance function comprising qualified and part-qualified accountants, payroll specialists, ledger clerks and international finance support. The role offers the opportunity to refine processes, enhance reporting capability and strengthen financial controls across the group.

While strategic in scope, this role also requires someone comfortable being hands-on when needed — a leader who understands the detail as well as the bigger picture.

About You

You will be a professionally qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) with strong experience in:

  • Financial accounting and statutory reporting
  • Management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Financial modelling and commercial analysis
  • Leading and developing finance teams

You’ll bring strong IT and systems capability (advanced Excel essential; knowledge of Sage 200 advantageous), excellent communication skills, and the confidence to engage effectively with senior stakeholders.

Experience working within a group structure — particularly with exposure to US GAAP, SOX or international reporting frameworks — would be highly beneficial.

Just as important are your personal qualities: professional pride, resilience under pressure, sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to build strong working relationships across a diverse organisation.

Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact Finance Director role with genuine strategic influence. You’ll shape financial direction, support growth initiatives, and work closely with senior leadership in a complex and engaging environment.

If you’re ready to combine commercial insight with operational leadership at Board level, we’d love to hear from you.
