Finance Director

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join an established, technology-led organisation as Finance Director. This appointment is suited to a technically proficient and commercially astute finance leader with a proven track record of shaping financial strategy, driving business performance through financial rigour, and partnering with executive leadership to support long-term growth.

Joining the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in influencing strategic direction, ensuring financial resilience and providing the insight required to support key commercial decisions. This is a broad leadership position offering significant exposure across the organisation and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on future performance.

The Opportunity

The Finance Director will provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation, taking responsibility for financial governance, planning, reporting, and functional performance management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the organisation's financial strategy in line with corporate objectives.
  • Providing commercial insight to support business planning, investment and growth initiatives.
  • Ensuring robust financial governance, controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Leading relationships with auditors, banking partners and external advisors.
  • Managing financial risk while identifying opportunities to improve business performance.
  • Supporting strategic projects, including acquisitions, investment activity and organisational transformation.
  • Developing and leading a high-performing finance department.

The Candidate

Applications are welcomed from experienced finance leaders who can demonstrate:

  • A proven track record operating at Finance Director, Group Controller, Head of Finance or equivalent level.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience grounded in technical financial leadership.
  • A background in building and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Experience partnering with executive stakeholders and Boards to drive organisational performance.
  • Professional accountancy qualification (ACA or ACCA essential).
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
