Finance Director Northampton

SF Partners are working with a growing Ecommerce business who are looking for a commercially focused Finance Director to partner closely with the CEO and help drive growth, profitability, and long-term value creation. This is a broad leadership role combining financial strategy, commercial performance, operational improvement, and business planning. You'll lead the finance function while acting as a key advisor to the leadership team, providing insight, challenge, and strategic support. The ideal Finance Director will be operating as a Finance Director or CFO in an eCommerce, DTC, or consumer business

Key Responsibilities • Strategic Finance & Leadership • Lead financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cash management • Ensure strong financial controls, governance, and compliance • Produce high-quality board and investor reporting • Manage external advisors and key financial stakeholders • Commercial Performance • Drive insight-led decision making across the business • Lead FP&A and performance analysis • Challenge and support commercial, marketing, and operational teams to improve profitability • Develop financial models that support growth and investment decisions • Support expansion initiatives through financial modelling and business case analysis • Evaluate new market opportunities and strategic investments • Help build scalable structures, processes, and reporting frameworks • Identify opportunities to improve productivity and operating leverage • Drive cost optimisation, process improvement, and automation initiatives • Support the adoption of AI and technology to enhance efficiency • Investor & Exit Readiness • Support fundraising, investor engagement, and strategic planning • Maintain robust financial models, reporting, and due diligence readiness • Contribute to long-term value creation and potential exit preparation

Requirements • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) • Existing Finance Director or CFO experience • Strong commercial, strategic, and analytical capability • Experience partnering with senior leadership in a growth-focused business • Proven track record of improving profitability and operational performance • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments • Experience with fundraising, investment, M&A, or exit processes is beneficial
