Director of Finance | Full-Time or Part-Time (4 days a week)
Buckinghamshire | Competitive Salary + Hybrid Working
We're recruiting on behalf of a prestigious independent school seeking an outstanding Director of Finance to join its Senior Leadership Team on either a full-time or part-time (4 days a week) basis. You'll work closely with the Headteacher and Governors, driving financial performance and shaping long-term strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who wants strategic influence but also flexible / part-time working.
The Opportunity
You'll lead all aspects of finance while overseeing commercial operations, governance, risk, and business planning. Key responsibilities include:

- Leading financial strategy and long-term planning
- Managing budgets, forecasting, and cashflow
- Presenting financial insight to the Board
- Delivering statutory accounts and audit
- Supporting major capital and development projects
- Leading and developing a high-performing finance team
About You
You'll be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with proven finance leadership experience. You'll bring:
- Strategic commercial thinking
- Strong financial planning and analytical skills
- Inspirational leadership
- Excellent stakeholder management
- The ability to balance big-picture thinking with operational delivery

Experience within education / not-for-profit is desirable but not essential.
