Financial planner / client manager

Financial Planner / Client Manager – Retirement Specialist (Central London)

We’re seeking an experienced Financial Planner or Client Manager to join our specialist wealth management team in central London. Our focus? The critical financial decision of our clients’ lives—ensuring reliable retirement income without disappointment. No 'Plan B' eulogies, just expert, independent guidance tailored precisely to their needs.

About the Role

Being accountable for £1m+ pension income portfolios for clients in later life—core to what we do—demands a sharp eye for detail, a passion for precision, and an unwavering commitment to reliability. This is the role the industry often labels "the nastiest job in finance"—and rightly so. Why? Because getting it wrong is dire, but getting it right can transform a client’s entire later life.

What We Offer

  • A purpose-driven wealth team that operates with independence, diversity, and no sales bias.
  • Holistic portfolio management across 11 platforms and 47+ fund managers, across ~£200m in assets for 150+ families.
  • Deep expertise you trust. Our data-led approach prioritises clarity, adaptability, and client-centred solutions.
  • A meaningful, discerning peer group. No fluff, no superficial targets—just expert discussion, research-based clarity, and loyalty to strong judgement.
  • Yours to experience. We measure our depth of care in time, not time-off. If pondering a chaotic retirement landscape excites you, we’d love to talk.

Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Core Tasks

  • Proactive Service Management:
    • Carefully managing £1m+ personal pension incomes for retired or ageing clients across their lifetimes.
    • Delivering hyper-personalised, reliable income solutions accompanied by clarity and context.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About Us

Who We Serve Baby boomers—not numbers, not demographics—but individualized human narratives, all on the precipice of cascading latest-month predictions with the purity of 'retirement means forever.' Both real importance and cosmic implications. Anyone’s legacy matters one way or the other.

What We Build Your team is (as you know) independent, highly adaptable, and ingrained further no-platform than the other cornerpieces. With no pushback pricing mirrors—purely based decision quality, we aim to be the most fulfilling wealth practice any retiree lands their head into.

Benefits & Environment

  • Five-day core commitment. We believe co-presence (front of' made' for discussion, not in gembrilied M&Ms)—and yes, this is deliberate. Open desks, service breadth, and personal alignability within shoulders for clients needing acuity.
  • No easily-sold trappings. Yes, we’ll also provide real insights. Team-lean, narrative guidance, robust financial platform curation, and respect for the knattering of a portfolio managing time in knowing experience—not shiny veneer.
  • CRC. We’re a research organisation too! Thought-leadership sits at the heart ofstructural sophistication.
  • You’ll care. Most do. Our people do their jobs when necessary, behave accordingly, and persist to master inertia and ambiguity. These are life and good advice’s pre-conditioned matching terms.

Qualifying Assessment

(Note: Recruiting is assessing. Our process skews rigorous rather than revolutionary.)

Try this:

  • Go to our website first.
  • Read some research. Understand our values.
  • Let us wonder if this vibe struck something in you. Ask a question soon after—we’ll move quickly once the fundamentals mastered.
