Financial Planning Administrator / Junior Paraplanner

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Planning Administrator / Junior Paraplanner to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing a career within financial services, providing vital support to senior financial planners. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with report writing, analysis, and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operational workflows. This position is ideal for organised individuals with strong communication skills and a passion for financial planning.

Responsibilities

  • Submitting new business applications to providers, including more complex cases where required, and chasing these through to completion while resolving any issues and keeping Financial Advisers updated.
  • Preparing suitability reports, review letters and annual review letters for a variety of advice types, including undertaking tax calculations, cashflow forecasting, and switch analysis where required.
  • Discussing client cases with Financial Advisers and identifying where further information, clarification, or supporting documentation is required.
  • Carrying out fund, product, and provider research and analysis, including obtaining valuations, quotes, and other information for Financial Advisers.
  • Submitting protection applications and chasing these through to completion.
  • Performing fee reconciliation, resolving any issues that may arise, and running regular reports to ensure adviser payments are made accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining relevant business logs and trackers, including the DB Transfer Log and Mortgage Tracker.
  • Responding to client queries professionally by telephone and email, answering incoming calls, and accurately taking information and notes to pass on messages promptly.
  • Ensuring all relevant compliance, internal business documents, and provider documents are completed and held on the firm’s back-office system.
  • Ensuring all tasks are carried out and completed in line with company policies and procedures, as well as all compliance and legislative requirements.
  • Dealing effectively with colleagues, product providers, and third parties.
  • Supporting the wider Support Team, including providing assistance and training to junior team members where required.
  • Proactively contributing towards building own knowledge and experience in financial planning advice and the financial planning industry.
  • Completing reasonable ad-hoc and other duties as required by the company.

  • Previous administrative experience within financial services, including report writing experience.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
  • Knowledge of financial planning principles.
  • IT literacy with a good understanding of various software tools used in financial environments.
  • Strong time management skills to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Customer service orientation with a professional attitude.
  • Working towards Level 4 qualifications.
