Financial Planning Associate
A route into financial advice
Are you Level 4 qualified and looking for more than a traditional paraplanning or technical support role? This is an opportunity to join a modern, growing wealth management firm that is investing heavily in the next generation of Financial Planners. Working directly alongside a successful Senior Adviser, you'll gain hands-on experience with clients, develop your technical expertise, and follow a structured pathway towards becoming a Financial Planner.
If your long-term goal is to advise clients rather than remain behind the scenes, this could be the career move you're looking for.
The Role
As a Financial Planning Associate, you'll become a key part of the client journey, supporting a Senior Financial Planner while developing the commercial, technical and interpersonal skills needed to progress into advice.
This role offers significantly more client interaction than many traditional planning support positions, providing exposure to high-net-worth individuals, complex planning needs and real-world advisory situations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
