Job Title: Interim FP&A Specialist
This is an interim requirement paid on a day rate (outside IR35) for a minimum of 3 months, with a high likelihood of a further 3 months. The role will require you to be based in the West Midlands and travel to Birmingham offices.
Day rate: £500 - £650 per day outside IR35
Contract length: 3 months minimum, likely 6+ months
Start date: Within two weeks
Location: Birmingham, hybrid working pattern
About the Role
Interim FP&A Specialist with M&A experience required for a superb professional services firm headquartered in Birmingham, West Midlands. This acquisitive group has recently received private equity backing, and is currently embarking on an aggressive growth strategy that includes numerous acquisitions of competitors.
We are seeking an experienced professional interim FP&A specialist who can support the ongoing financial due diligence processes for various acquisitions, and advising on the best way to proceed for the Group CFO and M&A Director.

Key Responsibilities
As the interim FP&A Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for:
- Supporting the financial due diligence (FDD) process for multiple ongoing acquisitions, and future planned acquisitions
- Interrogating financial reports and cash flow forecasts from potential acquisitions, turning them into something more digestible and meaningful for the FD and M&A Director
- Building and developing FP&A models to support the corporate finance activities of the group
- Working with the private equity-house and SLT to propose strategies
- Enhancing the internal FP&A processes and systems, working with the finance team to streamline procedures and improve forecasting and budgeting
- Supporting post-acquisition integration of new entities as required
- Ad hoc project work for the Finance Director and M&A Director, as required

Requirements
You will need to be:
- A fully qualified accountant (ICAEW, ICAS, ACMA or ACCA only) with at least 5 years' PQE
- An experienced interim professional, with demonstrable experience hitting the ground running in new environments
- Experienced in acquisitive environments, ideally supporting M&A activity yourself
- Highly experienced as an FP&A professional
- A strong financial modeller, with advanced Excel and business intelligence skills
- Ideally experienced within private equity-backed environments
This role is for an immediate start and may close quickly as interest is high. Please note only those local to Birmingham with relevant experience who match the above person brief will be considered for the role.
