FJA are recruiting for an experienced Financial Regulations Specialist

FJA are recruiting for an experienced Financial Regulations Specialist on behalf of our client based in Greater Manchester. You will work closely with Treasury, Credit Risk, Compliance and the Technical teams to ensure the business operates according to all the required regulations.

Role Overview

The role focuses on interpreting and applying complex requirements to support the design and growth of products and services, alongside providing guidance to employees, clients and relevant third parties. You'll interpret evolving rules and guidance, form technically sound positions, and advise on practical, compliant solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing technical advice across tax, legal and regulatory matters relating to services, schemes and solutions
  • Interpreting and applying complex or evolving guidance, exercising sound judgement where solutions are not clear-cut
  • Developing and evolving employee schemes that are technically robust, compliant and practical to operate
  • Assessing new product ideas and customer requirements, identifying technical risks and opportunities
  • Shaping solution design to align with the business’ operating model
  • Drafting, reviewing and explaining technical and legal documentation to ensure it accurately reflects intended technical positions
  • Acting as a trusted technical adviser to internal teams, customers and relevant third parties
  • Delivering training and guidance, translating complex technical matters into clear, practical understanding, tailored to the audience

Requirements

  • Strong technical experience in one or more of finance, tax, legal, regulatory or compliance-related disciplines
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and regulatory guidance
  • Confidence forming reasoned technical judgements and explaining technical positions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing clear, accurate technical or legal documentation
  • Strong attention to detail, with a practical and commercially aware mindset
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, while collaborating closely with colleagues across the business, and knowing when to seek input or escalation
  • Strong questioning and listening skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge
  • Ability to work in line with company core values

Desirable

  • Professional qualifications or experience in accountancy, taxation, compliance or legislative disciplines
  • Experience working with or interpreting FCA regulation and Consumer Credit legislation
  • Experience in auditing or report writing
  • Experience in creating and managing technical or legal documents
  • Experience delivering training or technical guidance to a range of audiences
