Financial Reporting Accountant - 6 month Fixed Term Contract

Location: London - Hybrid
Contract: Fixed term
Hours: Full time 35 hours

Purpose of the Role

The Financial Reporting Accountant will support the Senior Reporting Manager in managing change initiatives and addressing technical accounting matters within Corporate Reporting. The role will also partner with the Change Manager to:

  • Advise on the accounting and reporting implications of new products, investments, and wider business activities
  • Support the implementation of IFRS accounting standard changes, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide accounting and reporting (Multi-GAAP, including Solvency II) support on material finance transactions and projects for example new product features, complex investments, corporate initiatives, leases, impairment, provisioning.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to ensure delivery of timely accounting technical support. This includes those in DB, Retail Actuarial, Investments, Finance, Risk.
  • Monitor changes in the business and the external environment relevant for financial reporting.
  • Provide support to the wider Group finance teams, including accounting technical advice and operational requirements to ensure financial reporting is concluded upon on a timely basis and is appropriately recorded and disclosed.
  • Implementation of changes to accounting standards.

  • Qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience
  • Technical accounting experience required
  • Financial reporting experience required
  • IFRS 17 financial reporting experience desirable
  • Experience within Life insurance industry highly desirable
