Financial Reporting Accountant - Midlands - New!
Location: Remote/Initial travel to Chesterfield 2x a week
Salary: £31,500 + Package + Remote + Progression and Development
Are you an ambitious finance professional looking to take the next step in your career? We're recruiting for a Reporting Accountant to join a growing Logistics Finance team, offering genuine career progression and the opportunity to develop into a Finance Manager role as the team continues to expand.
Supporting a large-scale logistics operation with an annual turnover of approximately £140m across multiple UK locations, you'll play a key role in financial reporting, balance sheet control, cost management and delivering meaningful financial insight to support operational decision-making.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
- Supporting month-end and year-end reporting, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparing monthly management accounts, KPI reporting and financial analysis.
- Investigating variances and maintaining accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and logistics cost reporting.
- Managing Asset Under Construction (AUC) records and fixed asset accounting.
- Assisting with capital expenditure reporting and purchase order approvals.
- Maintaining strong financial controls and supporting internal and external audit requirements.
- Partnering with operational teams to improve processes and provide commercial financial insight.

About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- A minimum of two years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
- Progress towards an ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience of month-end processes, management reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills, with experience using SAP.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills.

Desirable
- Experience within logistics, manufacturing or FMCG.
- Fixed asset accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Navision.
- Exposure to statutory accounts.
