Job opportunity: Financial Reporting Accountant

Hours:

40 per week

Working Pattern:

Full time in office for 3 months training period, then 3 days in office with two from home

Location:

Vitacress Salads St Mary Bourne, Lower Link Farm, Lower Link, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 6DB

Salary:

Competitive with eligibility for incentive scheme and company pension

In this role you’ll…

  • Work closely with the Financial Reporting Manager and Finance Business Partners to ensure financial information is clearly communicated across the business.
  • Take ownership of key finance processes, particularly around the balance sheet, fixed costs, and fixed asset management.
  • Manage the fixed asset register, including capitalisation, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations to the general ledger.
  • Support weekly and monthly reporting cycles, including forecasts, KPI reporting, and management accounts preparation.
  • Produce accruals, cost centre reporting, and IFRS 16 lease accounting, working directly with budget holders.
  • Contribute to intercompany accounting, payroll validation, and month-end close activities.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, statutory accounts, and year-end audit processes.
  • Get involved in ad hoc finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency.

You’ll do this for us…

  • Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting that supports decision-making across Vitacress.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, helping non-finance teams understand financial performance.
  • Ensure robust control and management of financial processes, particularly across fixed assets and overheads.
  • Support forecasting and budgeting processes by working closely with cost centre owners.
  • Improve financial processes by identifying inefficiencies and implementing better ways of working.
  • Contribute to a high-performing finance team that values quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You can do this if you have…

  • Part-qualified accountant status (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), with a desire to complete your qualification.
  • Experience in a finance function with exposure to reporting, forecasting, and month-end processes.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with advanced Excel capability and ERP system experience (IFS is a plus).
  • An understanding of financial reporting concepts such as accruals, fixed assets, and ideally IFRS 16.
  • The ability to produce clear financial reports and analysis (e.g. KPIs, Capex proposals, payback assessments).
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to review processes and suggest improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail, a self-starting attitude, and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
