Financial Reporting Accountant
Accountant (Long-Term Contract – Maternity Cover)
Location: Central Bristol (3 days per week)
We are seeking a qualified accountant with 2+ years’ Post Qualification Experience (PQE) to cover long-term maternity leave, with potential for further opportunities within our company or beyond the contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out financial reporting in a large corporate environment, with a focus on divisional statutory financial statements
- Produce and review financial statements with accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrate strong Excel skills, including advanced data manipulation and financial modelling
- Work within a complex group structure, preferably with exposure to joint venture accounting
- Communicate effectively at all levels by asking questions and challenging assumptions
- Act as a trusted partner within our fast-paced and collaborative team

Ideal Candidate Background
We are specifically looking for:
- A qualified accountant with strong financial reporting skills
- PQE (2+ years) or equivalent ex-firm experience
- Experience working in industry (post-qualification) or large corporate environments
- Exposure to complex group financials, statutory reporting, or joint venture accounting
- Preference for those who have worked outside a Big 4 firm, however, applicants from top 10 accountancy firms will be considered
About This Role
- This is a long-term contract (maternity cover) with flexible 3-day Bristol-based workweeks
- Excellent opportunity for patterned working if return dates are likely to vary
- Potential to continue within the business—we want to retain talented professionals after contract completion
- Contract start depends on usual notice periods if required, but we expect to move fast once available
