Financial Reporting Accountant
Hours: 40 per week Working Pattern: Full-time in-office for 3-month training period, then 3 days in-office, 2 days from home Location: Vitacress Salads, St Mary Bourne, Lower Link Farm, Lower Link, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 6DB Salary: Competitive, with eligibility for incentive scheme and company pension
About the Role
Are you a part-qualified accountant ready to take responsibility for financial reporting, driving impact through clear financial insights? Do you thrive in turning complex data into actionable intelligence for non-finance teams? We’re seeking a proactive finance professional to develop processes, challenge the status quo, and grow within a supportive finance team at Vitacress Salads.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll partner with stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting across the business:
- Collaborate with the Financial Reporting Manager and Finance Business Partners to improve financial communication.
- Take ownership of key financial processes, with a focus on:
- Balance sheet management
- Fixed costs optimisation
- Fixed asset tracking and depreciation
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register, including capitalisation, disposal tracking, and general ledger alignment.
- Support weekly and monthly reporting cycles, including:
- Forecasting
- KPI reporting
- Management account preparation
- Produce accruals, cost centre reports, and IFRS 16 lease accounting, working closely with budget owners.
- Assist with intercompany accounting, payroll validation, and month-end close activities.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, statutory accounts, and year-end audits.
- Lead ad hoc finance projects and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
- Provide financial clarity for non-finance teams through reports and stakeholder engagement.

What Makes a Great Fit?
Professional Background
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a clear desire to complete your qualification.
- Proven experience in a finance function, with exposure to:
- Financial reporting
- Forecasting
- Month-end and statutory processes
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Exceptional numerical and analytical abilities.
- Advanced Excel proficiency (e.g., data modelling, pivot tables).
- Experience with ERP systems (a plus for IFS expertise).
- Understanding of accruals, fixed assets, and IFRS 16 requirements.
Reporting & Agile Mindset
- Ability to generate clear, impactful financial reports (e.g., KPIs, Capex proposals, payback analyses).
- Process review expertise—identifying inefficiencies and proposing improved workflows.
