Financial Risk Manager

A leading InsureTech organisation is looking to hire a Financial Risk Manager on a permanent basis. The role offers a salary of up to £110,000 plus bonus and an excellent benefits package, alongside very flexible hybrid working.

About the Role

This is a key second-line role focused on oversight and challenge across pricing, underwriting, reserving, and broader insurance risk activities. The business is looking for someone commercially minded who can work closely with senior stakeholders and help drive a more proactive approach to risk management across the organisation.

Requirements

To be considered for the role, you will need:

  • Strong General Insurance experience across pricing, actuarial, modelling, or insurance risk
  • Previous second line oversight or Risk Management experience
  • Experience reviewing and challenging models, assumptions, and methodologies
  • Strong understanding of FCA, PRA, Solvency UK, and Consumer Duty expectations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and manage upwards

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing second-line oversight and challenge across pricing, underwriting, and broader insurance risk activities
  • Reviewing models, portfolio performance, and risk exposure to ensure risks remain within appetite
  • Partnering closely with underwriting, pricing, actuarial, and finance teams to provide commercial risk insight and challenge
  • Supporting governance, regulatory oversight, and senior stakeholder reporting
  • Providing second-line input into new products, pricing model changes, and underwriting decisions
