We are expanding globally, scaling our capabilities, and deepening our impact, so if you want to shape the future of financial infrastructure - this is the place.

Your Team

As our new skilled Financial Risk Manager in the Risk team in London, you’ll experience an open and knowledge-driven culture, where everyone can thrive, connect with colleagues, learn and grow. Here you will be empowered to make an impact every day.

In this role you will get the chance to work on developing, maintaining, and enhancing the Bank’s financial risk management framework across capital, liquidity, market, and credit risk, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and industry best practice across EU and UK regimes. You report to the Head of Financial Risk in London.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance financial risk analysis and reporting frameworks, using data, advanced analytics, and technology to improve efficiency, consistency, and decision-making insight.
  • Produce and evolve risk dashboards and management information leveraging Python, SQL, and Power BI across capital, liquidity, and balance-sheet risks.
  • Advance financial risk management capabilities through innovation, automating existing processes, and leveraging emerging technologies (including AI) to increase scalability, robustness, and forward-looking insight, while championing a modern, technology-driven risk vision.
  • Contribute to ICAAP, ILAAP, and Recovery Planning activities, including capital and liquidity adequacy assessments, stress testing, and scenario analysis, ensuring sound methodologies and regulatory-compliant outcomes.
  • Support the design and evolution of stress-testing frameworks, ensuring effective use of stress results in risk assessment, management actions, capital and liquidity planning, and regulatory submissions.
  • Track and interpret regulatory developments (including CRR/CRD, PRA/FCA requirements, and supervisory expectations), translating regulatory change into clear frameworks, analysis, and practical guidance for the business.
  • Provide expert oversight and guidance to international entities and branches, supporting a consistent, coherent, and group-wide approach to financial risk management.
  • Act as a key Second Line of Defence reference for financial risks and related regulatory topics, working closely with Treasury, Finance, Credit, Compliance, and other Risk functions, and—together with the Head of Financial Risk and the CRO—participating in relevant committees and forums to ensure effective challenge, alignment, and structured dialogue between the first and second lines of defence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
