Financial Services Officer – Permanent Role
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and dedicated individual to join the Financial Services team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate must be a strong team player with excellent IT and interpersonal skills.
This Financial Services Officer role is based at Ysbyty Gwynedd, working within the Financial Services team.

Main Duties & Key Responsibilities
The Financial Services Officer will:
- Provide general office support to both staff and members of the public.
- Carry out cashiering duties, ensuring secure and efficient handling of financial transactions.
- Perform a range of administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of financial services.
- Ensure adherence to relevant financial and organisational policies.
Language preference:
- Speaking Welsh is desirable, though both Welsh and English speakers will be considered equally.

Qualifications
Essential:
- GCSE Maths (Grade C or equivalent).
- GCSE English (Grade C or equivalent).

Desirable:
- AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification.
- University Degree (minimum 2:2 classification).
Knowledge
Essential:
- Understanding of spreadsheets and databases, including basic functions for financial administration.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with accounting theories, processes, and bookkeeping.
Personal Qualities
Essential:
- High integrity and strong motivation.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Capacity to build rapport with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Skills Essential:
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in numeracy, including handling financial calculations.
Experience Essential:
- Practical expertise in using spreadsheets and databases for financial operations.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in financial calculations, reconciliations, and accounting processes.
Other Requirements
Essential:
- Ability to travel reliably between sites as required.
Desirable:
- Oral proficiency in Welsh (considered a bonus but not compulsory).
