Fire Alarm Design & Estimation Engineer

Fire Alarm Design & Estimation Engineer – Fire Systems

Location

Site & office-based (Bermondsey, London) Competitive salary

About the Role

We’re looking for a Design & Estimation Engineer to collaborate closely with our sales team, supporting the planning, surveying, designing, and costing of fire alarm installations, upgrades, remedials, and maintenance works across London. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth transitions between site assessments, technical design, maintenance evaluations, and commercial competitiveness.

You’ll carry out on-site surveys, design compliant fire systems per BS 5839, and provide detailed cost estimates—bringing accuracy and innovation to every project while balancing technical precision with commercialaine.

Key Responsibilities

1. On-Site Assessments & Technical Advice

  • Conduct detailed surveys (upgrades, retrofits, maintenance) of existing and new sites.
  • Evaluate conditions of fire alarm systems, identifying compliance gaps, obsolescence, and remedial needs.
  • Assess site constraints, especially in live/occupied environments.
  • Record asset registers, schedules, and infrastructure reports.
  • Collaborate with office-based teams and sales to understand requirements and opportunities (e.g., small works, follow-on projects).
  • Deliver survey reports supporting mobilisation, asset management, and additional opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
