The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join our growing team covering Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. The role involves servicing, fault finding, maintenance, compliance inspections and small works on a wide range of commercial and residential fire alarm systems. Experience with AOV/smoke control systems is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and fault-find on fire alarm systems
- Carry out small works, remedial works and system modifications
- Replace and commission conventional, addressable and wireless devices
- Upload, download and configure fire alarm panels
- Complete fire alarm surveys and identify upgrade opportunities
- Test and verify Cause & Effect (C&E) programming
- Complete maintenance reports and compliance documentation
- Ensure all work complies with BS 5839 and industry standards

Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' fire alarm servicing experience
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience servicing commercial fire alarm systems
- Good knowledge of BS 5839
- Ability to identify system condition, non-compliances and recommend remedial works
- Full UK driving licence
Technical Experience
Strong experience with open protocol fire alarm systems, including Advanced, Morley, Kentec, EDA, Haes and C-TEC.
Experience with wireless fire alarm systems such as Hyfire, EMS and Zerio. xlqdzyr
Desirable knowledge of AOV and smoke control systems, including Teal, Actulux, WindowMaster, SE Controls and Easi-Vent, with an understanding of AOV operation, Cause & Effect programming, compliance testing and fault diagnosis.
