Location: Haringey, North London
Salary: £38,000 - £40,000 per annum + Company Vehicle + Overtime + Training
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer to join a growing and well-established fire and life safety business covering London and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for an engineer with strong fault-finding abilities, experience servicing a variety of fire alarm systems, and knowledge of AOV/smoke control systems. You'll be responsible for maintenance, small works, compliance inspections, and supporting clients with technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and fault-find on fire alarm systems.
- Carry out small works and system modifications.
- Replace and commission conventional, addressable and wireless devices.
- Download, upload and configure fire alarm panels.
- Conduct fire alarm surveys and identify upgrade opportunities.
- Complete maintenance reports and compliance documentation.
- Test and verify Cause & Effect (C&E) programming.
- Ensure all work complies with BS5839 and industry standards.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems within commercial environments.
Fire Alarm Panel Experience
Knowledge of the following systems is required:
- EDA
- Kentec
- C-TEC
- Haes
- Advanced
- Morley
Experience with additional manufacturers is advantageous.
Wireless Fire Systems
Experience with:
- Hyfire
- EMS
- Zerio

AOV & Smoke Control Systems
Knowledge of:
- Teal
- Actulux
- WindowMaster
- SE Controls
- Easi-Vent
Applicants should understand:
- AOV system operation
- Smoke control principles
- Cause & Effect (C&E) requirements
- Compliance testing and fault diagnosis
Standards & Compliance
- Good understanding of BS5839.
- Ability to survey existing systems and recommend upgrade works.
- Understanding of fire alarm compliance requirements.
Desirable
- FIA qualifications.
- Manufacturer training certifications.
- Additional fire and life safety system training.
