Role Description
The Fire and Security Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Northchapel. This role involves servicing, maintaining, and fault-finding on a range of fire detection systems, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control equipment at customer premises. The engineer will carry out routine inspections and testing to ensure systems remain fully functional and compliant with current regulations and industry standards.

- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues
- Completing accurate service reports
- Advising clients on system performance
- Escalating complex problems when necessary
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and associated fire safety equipment, with the ability to service, test, and fault-find effectively.
- Practical knowledge of security systems such as intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control, including installation, maintenance, and basic programming.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, with competence in using tools, test instruments, and system software to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Good understanding of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., BS and EN standards, fire safety legislation), and commitment to working safely and compliantly.
- Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues, including accurate completion of service records and reports.
- Ability to work independently on-site, manage time and workloads effectively, and adapt to changing priorities, including occasional out-of-hours work.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer locations in and around Northchapel as required.
- Industry-recognized qualifications or certifications in fire and security engineering or a related discipline (e.g., NVQ, FIA training) are highly beneficial.
- Previous experience in a similar fire and security service role and a customer-focused mindset, with a professional, respectful approach to all clients.
