Fire Door Installer / Passive Fire Protection Operative

Location: South Hampshire, Southampton

Employment: Direct employed with Logic or via agency Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum (Van, fuel card & company benefits included)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Unpaid breaks included)

Contract Type: Full-time (term to permanent)


Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Door Installer / Passive Fire Protection Operative to join our expanding team in Southampton. The successful candidate must have hands-on experience in fire door installation, remedial fire protection works, and fire stopping, while demonstrating a strong commitment to compliance, safety, and high-quality standards.

This position requires a self-sufficient, reliable professional capable of working independently to deliver top-tier workmanship across diverse projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation of fire doors in full compliance with current regulations and manufacturer guidelines
  • Execution of fire door remedial works and upgrades, including repairs and adjustments
  • Installation of door closers and associated fire-rated ironmongery
  • Completing fire stopping works as specified on projects
  • Accurately documenting tasks and maintaining job sheets
  • Ensuring safe and professional practices on-site across all projects

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in fire door installation and remedial fire protection
  • Hands-on experience with fire-stopping and fire-rated works
  • Knowledge of door closers, fire-rated hardware, and safety ironmongery
  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Must provide your own vehicle and essential tools
  • Ability to work independently, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to high standards of workmanship

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working to BM TRADA fire protection standards
  • 1st and 2nd fix carpentry expertise
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent construction sites
  • Familiarity with building fire safety regulations and compliance guidelines
