Role Description
The Fire Engineer will play a key role in designing, assessing, and implementing fire safety strategies across regeneration, refurbishment, and remedial fire protection projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Performing fire risk assessments
- Developing fire engineering solutions for passive and structural fire protection

The Fire Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, site teams, and clients to provide technical guidance, support inspections, and prepare clear documentation and reports. The role also involves:
- Monitoring installation quality
- Identifying potential fire safety issues
- Contributing to continuous improvement in fire compliance practices
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nottinghamshire.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in fire engineering, fire safety design, or fire risk assessment within construction or refurbishment environments.
- Working knowledge of UK building regulations, fire safety standards, and relevant codes of practice (such as BS and EN standards).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and reports, and translate them into practical fire protection solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills for evaluating fire risks and proposing mitigation measures.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, operatives, and clients on-site.
- Relevant technical qualification in Fire Engineering, Building Services, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline; professional registration or membership with a recognized fire engineering or safety body is an advantage.
- Proficiency in using standard office and engineering software, with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Commitment to health and safety, quality standards, and continuous professional development in fire engineering and compliance.
