We have an exciting opening for a Fire Engineer or Senior Fire Engineer to join Hoare Lea, a human-centric and planet-conscious engineering consultancy.

The Role (Key Responsibilities)

  • Lead fire safety design for buildings across the UK
  • Work cross-disciplinary (with acousticians, MEP engineers, etc.)
  • Interpret UK fire safety regulations and guidance
  • Attend meetings (design, client, site visits) in the UK and internationally.
  • Maintain clear communication across project teams.
  • Use fire modelling tools (evacuation modelling, smoke/heat radiation calculations, structural fire modelling).

Requirements

  • Work experience in a fire engineering consultancy (or equivalent expertise).
  • Relevant degree (or equivalent qualification) in:
    • Engineering
    • Building Services
    • Mathematics
    • Architecture
    • Physics with a focus on fire safety.
  • Technical understanding of fire safety design and computational modelling tools.
  • Excellent IT & software proficiency (Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, etc.).
  • Strong team player with clear communication abilities.
  • Must deliver under pressure with high organisation & planning skills.
