We're recruiting a Fire Engineer to join our growing team at Karntek. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on meaningful, varied work across a wide range of projects, helping to support safer buildings and assist clients in navigating complex fire safety and compliance challenges with confidence and clarity.
Whether you're producing fire strategies, supporting Building Safety Act compliance, or providing technical advice throughout the design process, you'll play a key role in improving building safety while contributing to the continued growth and success of Karntek.

The Role
As a Fire Engineer, you'll be responsible for:
- Producing and reviewing fire strategies for a wide range of building types and occupancies
- Conducting and documenting comprehensive fire risk assessments in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance under the BAFE SP205 scheme
- Supporting the development and review of Building Safety Cases and associated documentation
- Liaising with fire risk assessors to resolve validation issues and provide technical guidance relating to the BAFE SP205 scheme
- Providing expert fire engineering and fire safety advice to clients, project teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Keeping up to date with UK fire safety legislation, British Standards, Approved Documents, and industry best practice
- Working collaboratively with architects, design teams, contractors, and building managers to develop practical, compliant, and cost-effective fire safety solutions
- Participating in internal training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to support continuous improvement across the business
Requirements
You'll ideally have:
- A Fire Engineering degree or a relevant qualification in Fire Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, Approved Document B, British Standards, and associated guidance
- Experience producing fire strategies and undertaking fire engineering assessments
- Experience carrying out fire risk assessments under the BAFE SP205 scheme is desirable
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A commitment to Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- A willingness to travel to client sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays where required
