Fire Protection Commercial Operations Manager
Branch-based | Covering South Wales, the South West & South Coast of England
£60,000–£70,000 DOE + up to 25% bonus + car allowance + private healthcare
We are recruiting for an experienced Fire Protection Commercial Operations Manager to lead, manage and grow a fast-paced, fast-growing regional fire protection operation.
This is a high-profile senior leadership role with full responsibility for commercial performance, operational delivery, people leadership, client development and full P&L accountability across a growing fire protection business.
The role can be based from Bristol or South Wales, with responsibility for a branch-led operation covering Bristol, Somerset, Gloucester, South Wales and future growth across the South Coast of England.
You will take ownership of a busy regional fire protection operation, leading operational, commercial and administrative teams while driving growth across existing clients, new sectors and a wider geographical area.
This is not a pure operations role and it is not a pure business development role. It is a senior commercial operations position for someone who can run the business, lead the team, manage delivery, build client relationships and grow revenue profitably.
The role will involve:
- Leading and managing a fast-growing regional fire protection operation
- Taking full P&L responsibility across the branch and wider region
- Driving commercial growth, revenue, margin and long-term contract value
- Managing operational delivery across multiple fire protection contracts
- Leading operational, commercial and administrative teams
- Developing opportunities across existing clients and new target sectors
- Growing the business across care homes, private property, education and wider property services customers
- Expanding the geographical footprint across South Wales, the South West and the South Coast of England
- Building strong relationships with clients, framework partners, stakeholders and senior leaders
- Supporting bids, tenders, proposals, pricing and client presentations
- Ensuring works are delivered safely, compliantly, profitably and to high quality standards
- Managing operational risk, resources, performance and compliance

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
