Overview
We are seeking a Fire Protection Trainer/Operator to join our Engineering & Training Services Division under Fire Protection Organization.
The Engineering & Training Services Division is responsible for developing, delivering, and continuously improving accredited fire protection and emergency response training programs for the Saudi Aramco Fire Protection workforce. The division supports personnel development from initial recruit training through Chief Fire Officer and administers nationally and internationally accredited certification programs in accordance with National Board for Fire Service Professional Qualifications (NBFSPQ), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC), and applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
Your primary role is to play a key part in curriculum development, instructional design, training delivery, competency assessment, accreditation support, and continuous improvement of fire service training programs while ensuring the highest standards of safety, operational readiness, and instructional excellence are implemented.
Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
- Design, develop, review, update, and validate competency-based fire protection and emergency response curricula, lesson plans, instructor guides, student manuals, practical exercises, and assessment instruments.
- Support the full instructional lifecycle, including curriculum development, lesson planning, instructional delivery, practical skills evaluation, assessment development, accreditation compliance, and maintenance of training facilities, equipment, and live-fire training environments.
- Deliver classroom, field, simulation, and live-fire training in accordance with current NFPA standards, organizational procedures, and accreditation requirements.
- Demonstrate expert-level proficiency in all knowledge and skills being instructed while serving as a professional role model during classroom, practical, and live-fire training activities.
- Conduct training needs analysis and competency gap assessments to identify organizational learning requirements and recommend effective training solutions.
- Develop, administer, and validate written, practical, and performance-based examinations to ensure objective competency assessment.
- Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive coaching, mentoring, and developmental feedback to support individual growth and operational readiness.
- Coach, mentor, and develop instructors and instructional staff to support workforce capability, succession planning, and professional development.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness using performance metrics, learner feedback, assessment results, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Support and maintain national and international accreditation requirements by preparing documentation, participating in audits, maintaining training records, and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure all training activities are conducted safely and in accordance with organizational policies, NFPA standards, applicable regulations, and live-fire training safety requirements.
- Inspect, coordinate, maintain, and ensure operational readiness of fire training facilities, training props, firefighting equipment, emergency response systems, and instructional resources.
- Participate in periodic curriculum reviews to incorporate operational lessons learned, emerging technologies, revised NFPA standards, industry best practices, and organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with Fire Operations, Engineering, Emergency Management, and other stakeholders to ensure training programs remain aligned with operational needs.

Minimum Requirements
- You will hold A Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Occupational Safety, Education, or a related discipline.
- Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree who possess extensive industrial fire service experience, recognized professional certifications, and demonstrated instructional expertise may also be considered.
- Minimum ten (10) years of progressive industrial or municipal fire service experience with an organization of comparable operational complexity.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in fire service instruction, curriculum development, training program delivery, or instructional program management.
- You will be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of industrial fire protection, emergency response, rescue operations, hazardous materials response, and incident command systems.
- You will have knowledge of adult learning principles, competency-based education, instructional design methodologies, and performance evaluation techniques.
- You will be able to meet the organization’s physical fitness requirements and safely perform duties within live-fire and Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) environments.
- Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Fire Service Instructor II, Hazardous Materials Operations and Fire Officer I or II certifications are required.
- Live Fire Instructor, Technical Rescue, Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), Incident Safety Officer, Hazardous Materials Technician and Fire Officer III certifications are preferred.
