##Fire Safety Adviser
Make buildings safer and shape fire strategy at scale. Join Tetra Tech’s growing Fire Safety team and apply your technical expertise to protect people, assets, and operations across public and private sector clients—this is a hands-on, career-building role where your assessments and advice will drive real change.
About the Role
As a Fire Safety Adviser, you will deliver high-quality Type 1–4 fire risk assessments, compartmentation surveys, and fire risk management plans for a diverse portfolio of buildings. Leveraging current and emerging UK fire legislation and guidance, you will articulate findings clearly, collaborate with clients and project teams, and define practical remedial measures. This role blends independent site work with technical reporting, while contributing to wider team development as the practice scales.
Your work will directly reduce risk, ensure compliance, and shape building management and refurbishment decisions—helping clients fulfil statutory duties and enhance occupant safety across industries.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Excellence
- Conduct Type 1–4 fire risk assessments and produce concise, actionable reports tailored to client key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Perform compartmentation surveys and evaluate passive fire protection measures, specifying necessary remedial works.
- Apply current and proposed UK fire legislation/guidance, assessing conformity and advising on statutory compliance and mitigation strategies.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
