Fire Safety Manager Location: Southwest of England Type: Permanent Opportunity Salary: £60,000.00 + Excellent Benefits Working Arrangement: Hybrid
Panoramic Associates is supporting a leading housing provider in appointing a Fire Safety Manager. This is a leadership role for an experienced fire safety professional to:
- Lead the organisation’s fire safety compliance, governance, and assurance functions
- Develop fire safety strategy, policy frameworks, and compliance programmes
- Ensure adherence to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety Act 2021, Building Safety Act 2022, and related regulations
- Collaborate with operational teams, contractors, stakeholders, and regulators to maintain proactive, risk-based fire safety management
Responsibilities
Strategic & Oversight Responsibilities
- Lead the organisation’s fire safety strategy, policy development, and compliance assurance
- Serve as the principal advisor to senior management and Board members on fire safety compliance, risk, and legislation
- Oversee Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), fire door inspections, compartmentation surveys, and fire safety programmes
- Ensure alignment with legislation, standards, and best practices

Operational Responsibilities
- Provide leadership on risk-based fire safety decisions regarding:
- Means of escape
- Communal area safety
- Evacuation strategies
- Signage & firefighting equipment
- Manage fire door inspection, repair, replacement, and installation programmes across the housing stock
- Oversee passive fire protection & compartmentation repairs with adherence to timelines
- Deliver Building Safety Act requirements and higher-risk building obligations
- Maintain fire safety databases, records, and compliance reporting frameworks
Liaison & Incident Management
- Act as the primary liaison with:
- Enforcing authorities
- Fire & Rescue Services
- The Building Safety Regulator
- Other external stakeholders
- Lead responses to:
- Fire incidents, near-misses, enforcement notices
- Serious complaints
- Regulatory investigations
- Drive continuous improvement in fire safety governance, assurance, and resident engagement
About You
The ideal candidate will have:

- Significant leadership experience in fire safety compliance within:
- Social housing, residential property, local authority, or regulated environments
- Deep knowledge of:
- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Fire Safety Act 2021
- Building Safety Act 2022
- Technical expertise in:
- Fire risk management
- Passive fire protection
- Compartmentation standards & fire door compliance
- Large-scale FRAs and remediation projects
- Proven influence over:
- Senior leadership teams
- Boards, regulators, and operational contributors
- Extensive experience managing contractors, consultants, and compliance partners
- Strong leadership ability including:
- Developing high-performing technical teams
- Stakeholder management & engagement
- Clear communication & governance reporting
